Do fans really hear the music before it hits streaming?

What early access means for fans who buy on the storefront, the caps that apply on chart-eligible campaigns, how and when tracks unlock, what the fan receives, and how early access sits alongside the streaming release.

Yes. A STUDIO release is early access, so fans who buy on the artist’s storefront hear the music before it reaches streaming services. You decide how much comes early, within the chart rules.

How much comes early

The artist and team choose the early-access plan. For US Billboard/Luminate campaigns, the cap is four tracks, or no more than half the album on releases of eight tracks or fewer. For UK OCC campaigns, the cap is 50% of the album. Both counts include early tracks and tracks already available on streaming services. Other access plans require review against the campaign’s chart-reporting requirements.

When tracks unlock

Early tracks unlock the moment the pre-order goes through. There is no code to redeem and nothing for the fan to wait on. The rest of the album unlocks automatically on release day, and fans get an email when it is live. Tracks can all unlock when pre-orders open, or stagger across the window so music keeps arriving as the campaign builds toward release day.

What the fan gets

Purchases are accessed through the fan’s library and the artist’s player. The artist and team decide the listening window and download availability. EVEN configures access and protection measures under the campaign’s agreement and requirements.

Early tracks stay exclusive until release day

Exclusive early tracks stay exclusive until street date. The US Billboard/Luminate framework permits one storefront per album release to offer that exclusive access. The UK offer follows its own OCC framework. EVEN reviews the full D2C plan and territory requirements before launch.

The effect on the streaming release

Early access on the storefront runs alongside your streaming plan. It is EVEN and streaming, not EVEN or streaming. A STUDIO release is an artist exclusive, not a platform exclusive, so the exclusivity covers the artist’s own destination and nothing else. The album still goes wide on streaming on release day, on the date the artist and label set. Buying on the storefront changes nothing about the streaming apps a fan already uses.
